Our Betta Health Nutritionist, Mrs. Dianne Whyte. Mrs. Whyte studied at The University of Technology where she earned a Bachelor of Health Science degree in Dietetics/Nutrition. Having completed the JAPINAD/MOH Supervised Practice Program she further qualified myself to become a Registered Dietitian. She has over 20years of experience working in the field.
Her specialty includes but is not limited to dietary counseling, calculating and prescribing meal plans both for normal and therapeutic diets and demonstrating how to make blenderized feeds for persons who need enteral nutrition.
Good nutrition is her mission so come along and join the hundreds who have benefited both locally and internationally from her services.
Our Betta Health Dentist, Dr. Odean Wright. Dr. Wright is one of the first locally trained dentists in Jamaica. He graduated from the University of Technology Doctorate of Medical Dentistry Programme in 2015. He enjoys travelling and is proud past student of Calabar High School. Services offered includes examination, fillings, crown and bridges, cleaning, root canal, dentures, extractions.

Introducing our General Surgeon, Dr. Varunesh Chand. Dr. Chand is a former Guyana scholar and graduate of the University of The West Indies where he obtained a Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery and a further postgraduate DM in General Surgery. He is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons and currently a Consultant at the Mandeville Regional Hospital. He offers services in General, Vascular and Laparoscopic surgery in Kingston and Mandeville.

Dr. Clayon Kelly is a Consultant Obstetrician & Gynaecologist with sub-specialization in Maternal & Foetal Medicine, and a high-risk pregnancy expert. He has dedicated his time to serving women and their unborn infants thereby ensuring their overall health. Dr. Kelly was apart of a historic surgery performing the first-ever blood transfusion operation on an unborn child in Jamaica. Introducing our Neurosurgeon here at Betta Health, Dr. Duane Patten. Dr. Patten is a Consultant Neurosurgeon and Complex Spine Surgeon. Having extensive experience in the medical field, he provides efficient surgical care and treatment to his patients.
He is a highly qualified Jamaican Neurosurgeon, Minimally Invasive and Complex Spine Surgeon. Dr. Patten graduated from the University of the West Indies in 2006 and completed his training as a neurosurgeon at the same university. In 2019, he completed his Complex Spine Fellowship at the Austin Hospital in Melbourne, Australia, where he worked under the tutelage of some of the most esteemed spine surgeons in Australasia.
Dr. Patten takes pride in being a fully fellowship trained Minimally Invasive and Complex Spinal Neurosurgeon. He is competent in the use of advanced technology, including robotic and navigated spine surgery. Dr. Patten performs Minimally Invasive (keyhole) spine surgery for all conditions relating to the cervical, thoracic, and lumbar spine.
With these techniques, Dr. Patten is able to provide safe and effective surgical options for my patients with minimal blood loss, enhancing their recovery through shorter hospital stays and early return to full functionality.

Dr. Hunter is a Christian first and foremost and believes that God has given us opportunities to use the gifts He has given us for His glory. He has a Doctor of Physiotherapy degree with his specialization in Sports Medicine and Exercise Science. He is also the Head of the UWI Sports Medicine Clinic, a certified personal fitness trainer for over 9 years as well as other certifications which he has had the grace to garner over the years. He makes an effort to do his best with what he have to give back and serve others.
He has been involved in sports and exercise for most of his life, however, his love is in teaching health related topics and working out in the gym. He strives for better, a better relationship with God, a better intellect and abettahealth.
Our Betta Health Physiotherapist, Ms. Ronnet Scarlet. Ms. Ronnet Scarlet has been practicing in this field since 2011. She has gained a plethora of experience from working as a physiotherapist in acute care and out-patient services at hospitals both locally and internationally. Experience gained has equipped her with the necessary skills set to perform optimally in her field. She has a wealth of knowledge in various areas of physiotherapy practice, which include; adult and pediatric cardiopulmonary, neuromuscular, orthopedic, and sports physiotherapy. She spent over two years, working with stroke and geriatric patients in a research base clinical setting at the
The University of the West Indies and over 4years working in acute care, outpatient, and home care physiotherapy services in the Bahamas. Ms. Scarlet is the holder of a Master’s degree in Sports and Exercise Medicine
physiotherapy, which is her area of specialization. She has worked with a number of athletes and sports teams at both local and international levels, notably Jamaica Cricket
and Jamaica female football. She is regarded by colleagues and patients as being highly motivated and extremely efficient, with a passion for people that propels her to be dedicated to her work. Ms. Scarlet is a very sociable individual who has a great love for music and a zest for life.
